On the 17th of August in the year of our Lord, 2000, Jesus Christ took Louise Parker home. Born Linnie Louise Wade, September 2, 1919- in Ballinger, Texas to Lee and Bertie Wade...raised next to a creek in rural Texas without benefit of running water or electricity. Her mother preceded her in death when she was the age of four leaving her to be raised by a committee of brothers and sisters. She graduated from Ballinger High School in the summer of 1935 with honors at the age of sixteen. She moved to Abilene, Texas where she met her husband, Jack Parker. She and Jack were married July 14, 1945 in Los Alamos, near the conclusion of World War ll. The couple moved to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1954 and finally to Eunice, New Mexico in 1955 where they raised two boys. For a number of years Louise and her husband, Jack were involved in a series of successful business ventures in Eunice which included a barber shop, Quick Mart Grocery Store, Ice House, Commercial Laundry, and Residential Apartments. She eventually retired and for a number of years was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Eunice. Deeply rooted in a strong religious belief she was a devoted life partner, as well as, a loving and supportive parent for her two boys. She always put the needs of others ahead of her own and even after a cancer diagnosis she was never heard to complain. Holding steadfast to her faith she lived each day with a vibrancy few could encompass. We will miss the smile and the cherubic voice of the special angel known as Mother. She is survived in death by her two sons, Tommy Dean Parker of Hobbs, New Mexico and Billy Jack Parker of Memphis, Tennessee; sisters Marie Vestal of Odessa, Texas and Loraine Wade of Ballinger, Texas; and brother V. O. Wade of Big Spring, Texas.
