He enlisted in the National Guard at Columbus, Ohio on 04 Jun 1917 at the Age of 21. He was assigned to the Battery A 136 Field Artillery. He was a Private. The Unit was part of the Meuse-Argonne; Defensive Sector. American Expeditionary Forces. They left on 28 June 1918 US and arrived to serve Ypres-Lys, Meuse-Argonne, Lorraine They traveled on the Ship named Connecticut returned on 24 March 1919 to Newport Beach Virginia. He was Honorably discharged 10 Apr 1919.

He was born 5 Sep 1895 in Richwood, Union, Ohio to Oliver Perry Lenox and Ruth Ellen Fisher.
He is survived by his wife Christine Sellar and son Robert Stuart Lenox.
They married in 31 Dec 1923, Cuyahoga, Ohio.
He is survived by brother Ralph Waldo Lenox, of Richwood, and his sister Mrs. Helen McDorman, Cleveland.
