Rev. C. Manternach officiated at the service and burial was in the Stacyville church cemetery. Hatten and Sons Funeral Home, Stacyville, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Beland was born to Daniel and Margaret (Shields) Ryan in Flanagan, Illinois. In 1914 the family moved by train from Loda, Illinois, to Charles City, Iowa, and farmed in the area. In 1931, the family moved to rural Stacyville area and farmed.
Survivors include five daughters: Irene Beland, Rochester, Minnesota, Frances Beland, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mrs. Margaret Heimer and Mrs. Carl (Phyllis) Schmidt, both of Stacyville, and Mrs. Joe (Joan) Schmidt, Austin, Minnesota; two sons, William Beland, of Stacyville and Ralph Beland, Birmingham, Michigan; 24 grandchidlren and 63 great-grandchildren.
