EVANS, Ga. - Laura K. McKettrick, 82, wife of the late John Wesley "Mac" McKettrick, entered into rest on Sunday June 28, 2009. Funeral services will be held on 4:00 PM on Wednesday July 1, 2009 at Platt's Funeral Home Belair Rd. chapel with Rev. Sonny Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. McKettrick was a native of Bamberg, SC. After college, she went to work for the Georgia Railroad Bank uptown branch. She would later work as the accountant for SigCox and Holiday Inn. Mrs. McKettrick was also worked as the manager of the Continental Airport Hotel and of the Uptowner Inn. Most recently she was the owner and operator of Laura's Travel Club. She loved to spend time bowling and stayed very involved as Co-manager of the Ladies East Coast Classic Bowling Tournament. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Survivors include her two sons; Gerald McKettrick and wife Joy of Grovetown, GA, Wayne McKettrick and wife Carol of Evans, GA, two sisters; Barbara Ackerman and Claudia Sandifer both of Bamberg, SC, four grandchildren; Ron McKettrick, Steven McKettrick, Crystal Story, Wesley McKettrick, seven great grandchildren; Ashton McKettrick, Jonathon McKettrick, Brandon McKettrick, Grayson Story, Katie McKettrick, Cory Pitts, and Daniel Pitts. Pallbearers will be Ron McKettrick, Steven McKettrick, Wesley McKettrick, Brian Sandifer, Jon McKettrick, and Buddy Sandifer. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon McKettrick, George Alexander, and Wesley Story. The family will receive friends on Tuesday June 30, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
