Albert Henry Mason of Redding died Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center in Redding. He was 70. At his family's request no services will be conducted.


Born Dec 14, 1908 in Oakland, he lived in Shasta County 34 years. He was a private accountant and had been the owner-operator of Mason's Treasure Chest and the H&R Block Income Tax Service both of Redding and the operations manager of Crocker Bank branches in San Francisco and Redding. He was a member of the Reading Masonic Lodge and the Nor-Cal Shrine Club both of Redding and the Ben Ali Legion of Honor and the Ben Ali Shrine Temple both of Sacramento. He was a World War II Navy veteran.


He leaves his wife Marie of Redding, a son Robert serving with the Navy, a daughter Richelle Whitman of Redding and two grandchildren.
