Mr. Walter L. Grimstead, a prominent citizen of Gwynns Island, died at his home last Monday morning after a long illness.
The funeral services were conducted at the home today by Rev. R. E. Vellines and interment made in the Gwynns Island Cemetery.
Mr. Grimstead was a native of Mathews and was 51 years of age. He was a consistant member of Gwynns Island Baptist Church and a man of splendid character, respected and admired by all who knew him. He is survived by his widow, one son, Curtis Grimstead, two daughters, Misses Alma and Erva Grimstead, three brothers, Messrs. John D., Herbert and William Grimstead, and three sisters, Mesdames C. C. Collier, L. T. Sterling and G. W. Wheatley.
