But about one month after Margaret was born their mother Annie Margaret died on October 18, 1899, leaving Edwin and the older girls to take care of the little ones. Jennie was 8 years old and her sister was 12.
One year later Edwin Watts married Laura Hannah Crowther February 2, 1900. Jennie's sister Laura didn't live long enough to get to know her new mother because she died in 1901. She was 14 years old at the time.
