"Miss Rebecca C. Powell, a former resident of Alexandria, died yesterday at Annapolis, Md., at an advanced age. For many years she taught a private school for girls in this city which afterward was merged into what was known as Arlington Institute. The body was brought here and taken to Wheatley's Chapel. Her funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from Christ Episcopal Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. W. J. Morton, rector, assisted by Rev. Dr. Berryman Green, Rev. S. A. Wallis and Rev. S.S. Hepburn. Burial will be in Old Christ Church Cemetery."
