According to old cemetery records, she was interred at Greenwood Cemetery on June 7, 1885, having died of "congestion" at age 76. On the 1880 federal census, she was enumerated as "grandmother" at the household of Edwin B. Comfort and Anna M. Comfort on Jefferson Street. She was the widow of John M. Abraham.

That venerable and highly respected christian lady, MRS. MARY ANN ABRAHAM, died last Saturday night at the residence of her granddaughter, Mrs. E.B. Comfort. She was seventy-seven years of age; a native of Virginia; sister of the late Henry F. Sizer and mother of Mrs. C. Johnson. The funeral took place from the residence, the services being conducted by Rev. H.F. Sproles, assisted by Rev. Dr. Hunter.
