VERGENNES - Walter C. Yantz, 78, a farmer, died Sunday after a brief illness.
He was born in Hinesburg Nov. 24, 1890, son of Karl and Carolyn (Wolf) Yantz.
He was a member of the Vergennes Congregational Church.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah (Prior) Yantz; four sons, Charles Yantz of Colchester, Warren Yantz of Ferrisburg, Douglas Yantz of Vergennes and Allen Yantz of Walthan; one daughter, Mrs. Hilda Goodyear of Houston, Tex.; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Larrow Funeral Home. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
