---Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Buck, who died in a Kirksville hospital Wednesday morning, were held at the La Plata Christian Church Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. L. Prather. Internment was in La Plata Cemetery.
---He was the son of Alanson and Lavina (Glazier) Buck and was born Nov. 25, 1879 at Athens, Ohio. He was married to Ada Murphy, who died in April, 1931. Nine children were born to them, two of whom preceded him in death, Mrs. Iva Kinsey, who died in 1925, and George Buck, who died in 1942.
---Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Pearl Slaughter, of near La Plata, Mrs. Ruby Cosby of Millard, Mrs. Frances Salisbury, of Kirksville, Mrs. Blanche Scott, of Gibbs, Mrs. Edna Cosby, of South Bend, Ind.; two sons, Merle and Ernest Buck, both of South Bend, Ind., and thirty-five grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Katie Murphy of Kirksville.
---Relatives from a distance who attended services were Mr. and Mrs. Merle Buck and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Buck, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Cosby and daughter, Mrs. Martha Fuston, all of South Bend, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Barnett, Palmyra; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Buck, Holiday, Mo., Mrs. Katie Murphy, Mrs. Deloma Conkin, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Salisbury of Kirksville and Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Scott, Gibbs, Floyd Murphy, Kirksville.
