Chester, Sept. 12. - Mrs. Mary Cornelia Wilks, 72, widow of the late William Thomas Wilks, died between 12 and 1 o'clock Thursday morning at Pryor hospital following an illness of approximately three weeks.
The funeral services were conducted from the Calvary Baptist church Friday afternoon by the Rev. J. H. Yarborough with interment in the graveyard of the church.
Mrs. Wilks was one of west Chester county's most highly esteemed women. She was a devoted member of the Baptist denomination.
She is survived by Mrs. T. O. Estes and W. E. Wilks of Chester county, J. O. Wilks of Dallas, Texas, L. J. Wilks, B. T. Wilks, J. C. Wilks, G. C. Wilks and Mrs. B. O. Cornwell of Chester county. She is also survived by a brother, Joe Pendergrass, and two sisters, Mrs. J. B. Carter and Mrs. Sallie Carter.
