LEATRICE GENELLA CARROLL "GRANNY" WAS THE DAUGHTER OF REV. FERDINAND TILFORD AND VONIA LOU DUNHAM CARROLL. HER PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS WERE CHARLES WILLIAM AND MATILDA ALICE YATES CARROLL AND HER MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS WERE ABRAHAM AND MATILDA ALICE CLIFTON DUNHAM.

SHE MARRIED MARION HASKELL QUARRY 4 DEC 1943 IN CHURCH HILL, HAWKINS COUNTY, TENNESSEE AT GRANGE HALL METHODIST CHURCH PARSONAGE BY REV W S ROBINETTE. GOD BLESSED THIS MARRIAGE WITH THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN: BRENDA, ROGER AND DAVID QUARRY.

LEATRICE GENELLA CARROLL WAS THE SIBLING OF BEULAH MAE, THOMAS HOWARD, ELLA LOU, CHARLES LINCOLN, EZRA CONNER, FERDINAND TILFORD JR, TWIN INFANT SISTERS, JAMES EVERETT, GOLDIE ALICE AND BETTY JO MARCELENE CARROLL.

CHURCH HILL - LEATRICE GENELLA "NELL" (CARROLL) QUARRY, 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday (July 4, 2009) at the Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

She was a loving mother, wife, granny, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Church Hill, the Rebekah Sunday School Class and One Accord Food Bank Ministry. She retired from Aladdin Plastics of Surgoinsville, Tennessee, with 25 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Haskell "M. H." Quarry; her parents, Ferdinand Tilford "F. T." and Vona Dunham Carroll; her maternal grandparents, Abraham "Abe" and Matilda Alice Clifton Dunham; her paternal grandparents, Charles Wesley and Matilda Alice Yates Carroll; her sisters, Beulah Mae (Everett Vernon) Wright, Ella Lou (Roy Ellis) Holt, Goldie Alice (Louis Alfred Earl) Wolfe and Betty Jo Marcelene (Herbert Bruno) Seidel; and her brothers, Thomas Howard (Mary Edith Wills), Ezra Conner (Nellie Elizabeth Simpson), Frank Tilford "Little FT", James Everett (Mabel Lorraine Long) and Charles Lincoln "Sebe" (Hannah Mae Chapman) Carroll; and one great-grand-daughter, Michelle Leigh Anderson.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours are from 5-8:00 P.M. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Gerhardt officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Hawkins County Memorial Gardens. Everyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 A.M. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Rebekah Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Church Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the One Accord Food Bank Ministries or Gideon's International in her memory.

Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill is serving the Quarry family.
