LONG BEACH -- Joseph Ellis Parker Jr., 64, a lifelong resident of Long Beach, died Monday, October 5, 1998, in Gulfport. Mr. Parker, a native of Harrison County, was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Long Beach Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Bond Parker. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Parker of Long Beach; two sons, Rickey M. Parker and Hiram E. Parker, both of Pass Christian; two daughters, Wendy P. Cadenhead of Niceville, Fla., and Stacey J. Parker of Saucier; his father, Joseph E. Parker Sr. of Long Beach; three sisters, Gladys Alexander and Delia Alexander, both of Long Beach, and Delores Rushing of Pass Christian; two stepdaughters, Michelle Joseph of Mobile, Ala., and Kimberly Teal of Irvington, Ala.; and 10 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight, October 6, at the Riemann Funeral Home in Long Beach. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial in Allen Cemetery in Long Beach.
