Kamilla Alvilda Aarseth was born May 3, 1915, on the family farm near Carpio, ND, to John and Johanna (Rekkedahl) Aarseth.
Kamilla graduated from Minot State Teachers College and started her teaching career in country schools in North Dakota. In 1945, she moved to Washington and continued teaching primary grades in Port Angeles and Seattle. She retired in 1974 from the Shoreline School District, after teaching many years as an elementary teacher, which she truly loved.
Kamilla was a member of First Lutheran Church of Richmond Beach for 51 years and was a member of the Mary Martha Circle of the church. She was a member of the Edmonds Sons of Norway Lodge, and the Sno-King School Retirees.
Those who shared in her life, sister-in-law, Theresa Aarseth, Minot, and brother-in-law, Leon Triplett, Seattle; nephews, Gary (Sonja) Condon, Seattle, WA, and their son, David Farrell; Jerry (Jill) Aarseth, Minot, ND, and their daughters, Lindsay and Courtney; Larry (Diane) Aarseth, Minot, and their children, Catey, Elizabeth, Joey and Alex; Terry Aarseth, Carpio, ND and Perry Aarseth, Minot; step-niece, Linda Kastner, Seattle, WA; step-grandnephews, Colin and wife Akiko of Seattle and Ryan and wife Pauline of Bejong, China. Kamilla is also survived by many relatives in Norway.
Kamilla was preceded in death by her parents, John and Johanna Aarseth; sisters, Mabel Triplett and Marvel DiSordi, and brother, Arthur Aarseth.
A memorial service was held January 28, 2009 at First Lutheran Church of Richmond Beach, Shoreline, WA.
Graveside service: Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery, rural Carpio, ND.
