Pearl Watkins Long, 84, died June 29, 1994 at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital. Born March 25, 1910, she was the daughter of William Van Camp and Ida Rachael Berry Camp. She was a beautician and a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Long of Caruthersville: Four sons, Bayard Schindel Watkins, Jr. of Danbury, Texas, William Van Watkins of Newcastle, Ok., Charles Ritt Watkins of Dearborn, Mich. and Alvin Hall Watkins of Dallas, Texas; Two daughters, Stella Virginia Gill and Ida Phyllis Criswell both of Caruthersville; Two brothers, George Daniel Camp of Hayti and Boyd Van Camp of Caruthersville; Two sisters, Martha Virginia Summers of Hayti and Mary Lois Chapel of Wardell; and Twenty grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bayard Schindel Watkins; a daughter, Mary Dona Watkins; and a son, Ralph Daniel Watkins.
Services were held July 1, 1994 at the Temple Baptist Church in Caruthersville, Rev. Jim Watkins officiating, with burial in the Maple Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald Watkins, David Smith, Kevin Watkins, Gregg Watkins, Chris Watkins and Mike Watkins.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the service.
