Clarence Moody
SCOTIA — Clarence Seth Moody, 82, of Scotia died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Scotia Baptist Church. The Revs. Keith Moody and Howard Grossoehme will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Scotia.

Visitation will be before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the church.

Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Moody was born on March 29, 1918, at Centralia, Mo., to Perrin N. and Deannetta (Wiechmann) Moody. He lived in several places in Missouri and began his education there. The family moved to Nebraska in 1930 and settled in the Scotia area. Mr. Moody attended school at Glendale and Scotia. He then farmed in Valley County. He moved to Idaho in 1936 and raised sheep and farmed. He returned to Nebraska in 1938.

He married Myrtle Alice Dwinell on Feb. 26, 1941, at her parents' homestead at Ericson. The couple lived and farmed 11 miles northeast of Scotia. Mrs. Moody died on Dec. 29, 1989. Mr. Moody lived on the farm until June 1999, when he moved to Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

He was a member of the Scotia Baptist Church. He was a past member of the school board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and horses.

Survivors include two sons, Vernon and Arnold, both of Scotia; two daughters, Carol (Mrs. Stan) Schrag of Eleuthera, Bahamas, and Donita (Mrs. John) Springer of Aurora; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Earl, Raymond, Levi, Clifford, Roland and Wayne; and four sisters, Pamelia Moody, Vivian Everett, Amy Farquhar and Edith Smith.
