SARTON — Betty Lee Weikle, 72, of Sarton, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009, at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea following a long illness.

She was born at Hinton on Dec. 12, 1936, a daughter of the late Dewey Willard and Pauline Virginia Bennett Miller.

Mrs. Weikle was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church at Sarton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen "Cookie" Miller; and a brother-in-law, Losey Lee Bennett.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, Paul Weikle of Sarton; two sons, Jeffery Weikle and Philip "Bill" Weikle, both of Sarton; a daughter, Beverly Weikle of Sarton; two brothers, Tommy Miller and his wife, Betty Mae, of Hinton, and David "Peanut" Miller and his wife, Janie, of Hinton; four sisters, Peggy Miller of Hinton, Caroline Sue Ward and her husband, Jimmie, of Sandy Level, Va., Nancy O'Neal and her husband, Eddie, of Dawson, and Brenda Bennett of Pipestem; two grandchildren, Phillipe Weikle of Sarton and Brittany Weikle of Brookville, Ohio; two ex-daughters-in-law, Merry Jo Weikle of Brookville, Ohio, and Brenda Weikle of Sarton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009, at the Mount Herman Baptist Church at Sarton with the Rev. Bob Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Herman Baptist Church Cemetery.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Groves Funeral Home in Union and at the church one hour prior to the service.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Groves Funeral Home in Union is in charge of arrangements.
