Mary E. FISHER, 90, Route 4, died Aug. 11, 1987.
She was born June 5, 1897, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Thomas and Bertha (RAMSAY) SEANEY. On May 8, 1920, she married Ray G. FISHER in Fort Wayne. He died Dec. 29, 1959.
She was a school teacher who had attended International Business College, Tri-State College and Indiana University Extension. She had taught school at Mishler School in Clay Township and in the Lima School System. After raising her family, she taught for 20 years at the Saylor School in Clay Township, the South Milford School and the Pretty Lake School. She was past president of the LaGrange County Hospital Board. She was a member of the Mount Zion Lutheran Church, LaGrange, the LaGrange Cotorie Club and the LaGrange Garden Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia McCLELLAN, Muncie, and Nancy PETRICK, West Lafayette; four sons, John FISHER, Kalamazoo, Mich., David FISHER, Valparaiso, Rex FISHER, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Stephen FISHER, Harvard, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one infant son, Samuel, in 1933; and one grandson, Thomas FISHER, on Jan. 13, 1982.
Relatives and friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. (Ind.time) Thursday at the Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange. Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at the Mount Zion Lutheran Church
