Mary E. Gowin, wife of Mr. Charles Gowin died at her home her Sunday afternoon after intense suffering for longer than a week. Goiter caused death. Mrs. Gowin was fifty-nine years old last month. She had lived here several years and had many friends because of her kindness and gentleness. For a number of years she had been cut off by deafness from many of the pleasures of this life but she accepted her lot without complaint. She had been in feeble health during the last year or longer. Her husband, two sons Messrs. Will and Wakefield Gowin, a daughter Mrs. Roy Patton, a sister and a brother are left to mourn her loss. The funeral services conducted by her pastor the Rev. Mr. Parrish was held from the Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock and burial was in Valley Cemetery.
