Norma was born in Laurel, Yanhill County, Oregon. She married Francis Cummings they divorced and she married Elwood Rollins the best friend of her brother Avon Barber. She had 8 brothers and sisters: Mora, Dee, Rollin, Helen, Violet,Dale, Avon, Elmer. She died in a head-on auto crash in Lincoln County traveling to her mother-in-law's home in Lincoln City. Her husband Elwood Rollins was driving but another car crossed into their lane and she died on impact. He survived her. She had 2 children Kathleen and Donald.
