John Colby was the son of John Colby Sr. and Frances Hoyt and the husband of 1) Sarah Osgood and 2) Sarah Eldridge. John was also the grandson of Anthony Colby and Susanna Haddon. He served in King Philip's War. He participated in Turner's Falls Fight and afterward helped guide the scouting party that located and buried the fallen men, including Capt. William Turner. John Colby's marker is missing.
