W.D. Castle, 74, Dies Wednesday Rites Held Saturday For Martin Co. Man
William David Castle, 74, lifelong resident of Martin County, died Wednesday, March 14, 1956 in a Louisa hospital following an illness of several years. The son of the late Richard and Hester Fitzpatrick Castle, he was born January 1, 1882 at Inez. He had been a resident of Calf Creek for over 50 years. A member of the United Methodist Church, he was an employee of the N & W Railroad until his retirement several years ago. Surviving are his wife, Mary F. Castle, two sons Richard Castle, Warfield, KY and Loben Tee Castle, Calf Creek; five daughters Mrs. Hester Hall, Williamson, WV; Mrs. Fallan New, Fort Gay, WV. Mrs. Blanche Stewart, Columbus, OH; Mrs. Pauline Conn, Crum, WV. and Mrs. Jacqueline Horn, Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Joshua Castle, Inez and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Pack, Job. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 17, 1956 at the home with Ballard Copley and Homer Mills as officiating ministers. Burial was made in the Pinty Cemetery under the direction of the Richmond Callahan Funeral Home of Inez.
