Funeral for "C.H." Charles Huston Bankston, 85, of Marietta, Ga., will be today, Oct. 28, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Jerry Accettura officiating.
Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bankston, who died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Decatur to Gaines Harrison Bankston and Belle Bankston. He was a World War II veteran and was a retired Lockheed Aircraft Electrical Inspector. Mr. Bankston was a missionary to Zimbabwe, Africa, in the 1950's. He was also instrumental in establishing several churchs in Alabama and Georgia, including Powers Ferry Road Church of Christ in Marietta, Ga., where he was a member for the past 40 years. Two brothers, Clyde Bankston and Allen Bankston, and one sister, Rosie Burden, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Jane Bankston; one son, C. Harrison Bankston and wife Carol, of Huntsville; one sister, Mary Ellen Sparks; two grandchildren, Karon Michele Baerlin and husband Mike, and Cheryl Dawn Alexander and husband Lane; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Moody, Jackson Waters Jr., Chase Baerlin, Billy Gene Bankston, Danny Moody, Guinn Sparks, Nathan Harrison and Tommy Moody.
