ASHEVILLE Oval Talmage Powell, 79, of 33 Caledonia Road, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, in a local hospital.
A native of Hendersonville, he was the son of the late Dewit Talmage and Cora Lamb Powell and a retired freelance writer.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred Morgan Powell a son, Paul T. Powell of Danville, Ky. two granddaughters, Palmyra Powell and Kristin Quinn. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Martin T. Powell.
The memorial service will be private. Williams Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
