SANTA FE, N.M. - A.R. "Tommy" Gallegos, 69, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Amarillo, Texas.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday in Santa Maria de la Paz. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Rosario Cemetery by Berardinelli Family Funeral Service.
Tommy was born June 18, 1940, in Tucumcari to Bonaficio and Julia Gallegos. He grew up and graduated in Logan. He was a retiree from the insurance industry, and was the owner of Superior Insurance Agency and Insurance Plans Unlimited. Tommy loved horse racing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bonnie Gallegos; and his former wife, Patricia Gallegos.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Goggans; his mother, Julia Gallegos; a daughter, Lynette Gallegos and husband George Sandoval; his son, Mike Gallegos and wife Jana; five grandchildren, Justin Mayrant and wife Amanda, Amanda Mayrant, Cody Gallegos, Charlene Gallegos and Alana Mayrant; four brothers, Ernest Gallegos and wife Lucy, Louis Gallegos and wife Bea, Albert Gallegos and wife Anabelle and Danny Gallegos; a son-in-law, Chris Mayrant; Kay Gallegos; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends whom he loved dearly.
Serving as pallbearers are Justin Gallegos and Cody Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Mayrant, Lynn Jerry, Paul Longoria and Tommy R. Gallegos.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Santa Fe County 4-H, in care of Lynette Gallegos, at any First Community Bank, account No. 1485318.
