Wildia Blevins,101,a lifetime resident of the Mooreland,Oklahoma area,died at the Mooreland Heritage Manor on June 2,2001.
Wildia Winnona (Wyckoff) Blevins was born June 8,1899 in a ruralarea close to Marshall,Oklahoma to the late Julius Mifflin and Ida Mae (Kendrick) Wyckoff.She attended several rural schools during her early years and graduated from Alva High School in 1917.She passed her lifetime teachers examination around 1919 and expanded her education at Northwestern State College.On May15,1924,she was united in marriage to Victor Floyd Blevins in Mooreland,Oklahoma.
Wildia taughtschool for 19 years in the schools of Mooreland,Sunny Slope,Miller,Hawkeye and Curtis.She then became a beautician and coordinated her business along with the barber business of her husband in order to devote more time to her family.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland.She was also a member of the Eastern Star,Retired Teachers Association and other numerous organizations throughout the years.
Wildia is survived by one brother,Julius and his wife,Thelma,Mooreland;two sons and their wives,Jackie Blevins and his wife Sherry,Ponca City;Gary Blevins and his wife Barbara,Duncanville,Texas;eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Victor Floyd Blevins,three sisters,Lina Nicholson,Maud Matthews,Matia Boughan;one brother,Glen Wyckoff and one grandson,Richard Blevins.
