Joseph Moroni Jenson was the son of Jens Jenson and Agusta Olson Mattson. He was born in Millville; but he spent three years of his boyhood in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. He learned the skill of gardening from his father. His vegetables, fruits and flowers were superb. He worked on construction, was employed at Borden Milk Company and at the Utah General Depot in Ogden.
On May 10, 1906, he married Augusta Amelia Elvira 'Millie' Jeppson, the daughter of Lars Jeppson and Kristina Lovisa Magnusson. Millie was born in Malmo, Sweden, November 17, 1888, and came to Utah at the age of fourteen as a convert to the LDS Church.
Millie was active in Primary and Relief Society and was a member of the ward choir for many years. She was well known for her beautiful needlework.
Millie and Moroni are the parents of eleven children: Arveld (Thelda Campbell), Louise, Meda (Gail Curtis), Emmuel (Vera Perkes), Elwood (Montis Larson), Ruth (Donald Shoup), Inez (Cyril Petersen), LaVone (Lowell Yeates), Donna Mae (Charles Stuart), Robert (Rhea Williams) and Betty Jean.
