A resident of Oelwein, for 70 years, he was a retired fireman for the Chicago Great Western Railroad, where he worked for 44 years.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 3, at the Brant-Kerns-Jamison Funeral Home in Oelwein. Rev. Carroll Brown will officiate, Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors are his wife Mary; children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother Harry of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a daughter, six brothers and one sister.
