Mabel L. Fair, 91, of 122 Sloan Ave., died at the Ashland Manor Nursing Home Saturday morning.

She was born in New London, on July 25, 1895, the daughter of Arthur and Mae Morfoot Hotchkiss.

Mrs. Fair was a resident of Ashland and Huron counties most of her life living in the Ruggles area.

She was a former employee of the C.E. Ward Co. of New London, retiring in 1960. Mrs. Fair was a member of the Steele Avenue Church of Christ in Ashland; a charter member for over 60 years of the Sullivan Chapter 499, Order of the Eastern Star; Damascus White Shrine No. 11 of Wooster; the Orange and Pomona Granges, and Circle One of the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland.

She was married Sept. 30, 1916 to Clyde Harley Fair, who preceded her in death on Aug.18, 1972. She was also preceded in death by her son Chester on Aug. 6. 1983.

Surviving are a sister, Mariane Filip of Norwalk; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Denbow-Primm Funeral Home with Travis D. Irwin officiating. Burial will be in the Southview Cemetery in Sullivan.

Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Denbow-Primm Funeral Home. The Sullivan Chapter 499 will have services at 8:45 p.m. today in the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Steele Avenue Church of Christ in Ashland.
