EAST DURHAM
= Our community was shocked and saddened last Saturday by the death of Henry E. Abrams, who, although he had suffered a severe attack of gallstones, was thought to be somewhat better. The funeral was held at the church on Monday, the Rev. V. Rugh officiating, and the many beautiful- floral pieces showed the respect and high esteem in which the deceased was held.
Mr. Abrams was about seventy-two years of age, most of his life having been spent in the town of Durham. He was a faithful, devoted member and trustee of the Methodist Church, and an active member of the fire company, which attended the funeral in a body, some of them acting as pall-bearers. He is survived by his wife and only daughter (Mrs. Walter Woodard), and to them deepest sympathy is extended.
