Andrew C. Johnson was born in Sweden June 16, 1847.  As a young man he came to Victoria, Ill. in April 1871.  There he was married to Amanda Hedstrom.   He lived in Iowa for two years, moving from there to Otoe county, Nebraska, where he resided for four years.  About 1884 he moved to Fillmore county, where he lived for many years, enduring all the hardships of pioneer life.

Two children were born, Almeda and Leonard.  His wife passed away August 31, 1899.   Mr. Johnson moved to Lincoln in 1907, where he made his home most of the time since, living with his daughter.  He passed away March 7, 1936, at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 19 days.  His daughter, Mrs. Almeda McPherren, living at 3001 Holdrege street, Lincoln, and the son Leonard of Monticello, Minn., survive.

The funeral party arrived in Shickley about noon last Wednesday and the body waws taken to the mortuary where a number of old friends of the family gathered between 1 and 2 to pay their last respects to this highly respected citizen.  Interment took place in the Swedish Lutheran cemetery, beside the grave of his life partner, with Rev. Mr. Blough of Lincoln in charges.
