Ethel Miller
Ethel Frame Miller, 84, 115 North First Street, died at 11:20 Tuesday morning at St. Joseph hospital following an extended illness. She had been hospitalized for the past month.
The daughter of Morris and Adda May Brown Frame, she was born on June 23, 1885, near Keokuk and lived here most of her life. She was a teacher at several rural schools including Oak Grove and Hickory Grove schools.
On Sept. 9, 1908 in Keokuk, she married M. Clarence Miller who preceded her in death on Sept 6, 1956.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, and a member and past Nobel Grand of Colfax Rebekah Lodge4, I.O.O.F. of Keokuk of which she was a 50 -year member. She was a past president of the Rebekah Assembly of Iowa having serviced in the 1939-1940 term.
She was also a member of Elmira Chapter 40, Order of Eastern Star, and a life member of Malta Shrine 12, White Shrine of Jerusalum, of which she was Past Worthy High Priestess.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her only daughter Juanita Elaine Dostert, on Sept. 23, 1963.
Survivors include a niece, Ruth Willcutt of Cody, Wy.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon at the Schmidt Memorial Home with the Rev. Cecil A. Wells officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
There will be a Rebekah memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Schmidt Memorial Home.
