He was born Oct. 6, 1931 in Snover, the son of Lloyd L. and Irene H. (McNaughton) Bader.
He married Shirley Watson Sept. 25, 1954 in Cass City.
Bader served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean War. He worked for Marlette Coach until he bought Village Service Center with Floyd Kennedy in 1969. Bader sold the gas station in 1988 and continued to work there until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Shabbona United Methodist Church, the Cass City Laymen's Club, the Two Cylinder Club, and the Cass City VFW Post #3644. He was active with Bay Shore Camp and an avid volunteer for Youth for Christ.
Bader is survived by his wife, Shirley; children: Gary (Cindy) Bader of Cass City, Bill (Celeste) Bader of Deford, Phil (Brenda) Bader of Findlay, Ohio, Sherry Bader of Cass City, and Jeff Bader of Kingston; 7 grandchildren; a brother, Dale (Sandra) Bader of Cass City; 5 sisters: Marjorie (Arthur) Caister of Cass City, Helen (Newell) Hubbard of Kingston, Donna (Gerald) Auten of Cass City, Wanda (Ronald) Parrott of Troy, and Audrey Halas of Royal Oak; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 26, at Shabbona, United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ellen Burns of Shabbona United Methodist Church, and Jeff Bader of Youth for Christ officiating.
Military honors were under the direction of the Cass City VFW Post #3644.
Interment was in the Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City.
Memorials may be made to Shabbona United Methodist Church Building Fund, Bay Shore Camp, or Youth for Christ.
Arrangements were made by Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City.
