Terrance Harris 21, of Stafford, Va., arrived Tuesday from Virginia, where he had been living for several years with his father while going to college. Terrence had recently left the county to visit family members in Michigan, including his 19-year-old brother, Sean Harris, of Detroit. He had planned to stay in the Detroit area until July 22, visiting relatives and catching up with old friends. During the visit, both brothers were passengers in a car that collided with a train.

Cause of Death: Automobile and Train Collision.

According to Canton Township police, 19 year old Daniel Broughton, of Woodhaven was driving on a suspended license when he ignored a lowered bar and flashing lights that indicated a train was coming.

He drove a Black Ford Fusion around the bars in attempt to beat the train, and into the path of the oncoming Amtrak instantly killing himself and his four friends.

A surveillance video released by police showed that Broughton's car never slowed down as it approached the crossing. Broughton drove right past a stopped SUV that was waiting for the train before driving around the bars into the train's path

Broughton died in the crash along with Jessica Mae Pauline Sadler 14, of Wayne,
Eddie Dillen Gross 17, of Taylor,
and his brother, Sean Harris 18, of Taylor.
