Arthur J. Hall Sr.,
Longtime Middletown area resident Arthur J. Hall Sr., 75 of Middletown died Sunday at his residence following a long illness.
He lived in the Middletown area for most of his life and graduated from Middletown High School in 1943. He worked at Guide Lamp Division in Anderson for 30 years. He was the last of the Horse Calvary in Fort Riley, Kansas and he saved his platoon during a training exercise. He was in the home ministry of the Middletown Nazarene Church. He was born July 3, 1926, in Middletown.
He is survived by his wife, the former Cecil L. Moore, whom he married Oct. 1, 1980 (CORRECTION 1960) ; children, Cathy Hall Chamberlain, Sylvia Marie Hall, Francis Lee Ann Hall and Sherie Lyn (husband: James) McClure; a stepson, Ronald J. Hall, a brother, Roy Hall of Muncie; two sisters, Julia Ann Romine and Lora Gift of Middletown; 13 grandchildren including, Calvin and Waylon McClure; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Ballard & Sons Funeral Home Middletown Chapel with the Revs. Arthur Whitaker and Kenneth Foust officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice or Middletown Nazarene Building Fund.
