Frank Mattern Trexler, a lifelong Allentown resident, graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1879. He studied law in the office of Thomas B. Metzger and was admitted to the Lehigh County Bar in 1882. Served as City Solicitor for eleven years. In 1914 Governor John Tener named him to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania where he served two terms of ten years each. Muhlenberg College gave him an Honorary Doctor of Laws in 1910.
He was highly active in the community as president of the Y.M.C.A. and served as an elder at the First Presbyterian Church, conduting Men's Bible class from 1905 to 1944. He was a 33rd degree Mason.
On Nov. 11, 1889 he and Jennie K. Schelling were married and they became the parents of:
1. Edwin Walter
2. Dorothy
3. Frances Matilda
4. Marion Sarah
5. Robert William
