Nellie B. Aardema
OGDEN -- Nellie Beus Aardema, 89, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at her home in Ogden.
She was born September 6, 1913 in Hooper, a daughter of Heber H. and Sindia Catherine Child Beus.
On March 2, 1942, Nellie married Albertus Aardema in Salt Lake City. Albertus died March 16, 1998.
She was reared and educated in Ogden where she attended Ogden High School. She also lived in Clinton for a few years.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nellie served in the Primary, counselor in the Relief Society, and taught Gospel Doctrine for many years.
She worked at Utah Tailoring Mills for many years.
Nellie had served as a P.T.A. President while her children were attending school. Her hobbies including sewing, reading and cooking.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Delbert Beus Aardema, Ogden; Robert Beus (Gayle) Aardema, Clinton; Helen J. (Mark) Pewtress, Ogden; Connie (Clark) Blaisdell, Pleasant Grove; 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Nellie is also survived by two sisters, Virginia Hipwell and Margaret Wilson.
Preceding her in death were her sons, Nicholas Aardema and Dale Aardema, her husband, brothers, Warren Beus, Lloyd Beus and Raymond Beus, and sister, Ruby Mahoney.
Funeral services will be held at the graveside on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lindquist"s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Douglas Larkin officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist"s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
