Barnett Bass II, 73, Vincennes, died at 10:22 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born Aug. 11, 1932, in Vincennes, he was the son Barnett Bass I and Frances Zelma (Miller) Bass.
For many years, Barnett was a mussel harvester. Later he worked at Hamilton Glass. During the Korean War, he served as a paratrooper in the Army.
Surviving are two sons, Barnett "Barney" Bass III of Vincennes, and Michael Bass of Westport, Ill.; a brother, David L. Bass; sisters, Rose Sanders, Gussie Biggs, Daisy and Esther; a granddaughter, Misty Dawn; and two grandsons, Barnett Bass IV and Jeremiah Bass.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
A graveside funeral service will be held on at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Family Funeral Home.
