Born and raised in Hawaii, Blanche was an eyewitness to the Pearl Harbor attack. Her future husband CWO Frank Bowman, had been transferred off the USS West Virginia only three months before it was destroyed by Japanese bombs. It was not until after that event that Blanche and Frank met - after a week-long wartime courtship, they were wed, and remained married until her death.
They had one child, John Bowman.
Blanche's passing was sudden and unexpected, but still the Fates were kind, choosing to call her home from the comfort of her favorite easy chair.
Blanche is joined by Frank, who passed July 4, 2007.
