Mr. Nathan McBride, age 86 last May 11, more widely and affectionately known as Scott, died at his home Jan. 4, 1938 after dropping on the sidewalk at the Wayne McBride store and having to be taken home.

Besides his wife Mr. McBride is survived by daughters Mrs. Norah Burcham, Royce, Texas; Mrs. Anna May Buttenfield, Tyler, Texas; Mrs. K. Harkey, near Belleville and Mrs. Ola Greenlee, of near Havana and sons, Homer and Audice, Havana and E. L. McBride, Waveland.

The services were in the Assembly of God church, with its pastor, Rev. Mr. Justice, in charge, assisted by Rev. C. J. Wade, pastor of Methodist church, Belleville and Rev. Mr. W. E. Huey, pastor of the Havana Presbyterian church. Miss Alma Lazenby sang a solo and flowers were beautiful.

Mr. McBride was the last of his father's family surviving only a few weeks his brother, Colonel McBride, who died Dec. 1, in Tecumseh. As a pioneer Uncle Scott was one of the best known of our Yell County men having hosts of friends as evidenced by the birthday parties celebrated for him the last few years. The father of a large and much respected family, a man that lived as he prayed, Havana has lost a man that in his quiet way was a living example for all who knew him.
