Thomas T. Blackwood, 84, of Memphis, died July 11, 2009. He will be dearly missed by Dorothy, his wife of almost 55 years; his loving children Melissa Booth (Bob), Jason Blackwood and Kara Blackwood; his precious grandsons, Taylor Blackwood and Christopher Blackwood; his sister Barbara Bradley of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Tom was a fighter pilot during WWII, retiring from the Air Force as a Major. He also retired from the Cadillac Motor Division as Consumer Relations Manager at the Detroit factory, having previously served as the Memphis District Manager for 18 years which was a position he especially loved. He enjoyed photography, skeet shooting, and travel, particularly by cruise ship. In his younger years, he was an avid motor boat racer. As a long time member of MOAA, he was 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President and then President in 2000. A graveside service will be held at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Friday, July 17 at 1:3 0 P.M. Memorials may be sent in his name to the charity of donor's choice.
