Dorothy worked at the Hub Restaurant as a cashier and bookkeeper and later at General Electric Pittsfield, there she became the first female manager for General Electric Corporation. She was the manager of the accounts payable department and had completed nearly 37 years of service. Dottie always worked well beyond the required duty.
She leaves her husband of 59 years, Charles; brother Roger Sala, Pittsfield, Mass. Several nieces and nephews; Roger C. Sala and Gene A. Sala; both of Pittsfield, Mass. Mercy A. Sala of Amherst ad Gia M. Young, Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. Allison DeGroce, Ft. Meyers, Fla., Thomas and Richard Plumb, Dallas, Texas and Joan Plumb of Massachusetts.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday Craig Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Shokes, officiating. Burial is Private in St. Augustine Memorial Park. Flowers are gratefully declined those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to Haven Hospice of the Lakes, 6400 St Johns Ave. Palatka, FL 32117
Dorothy was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She was never a complainer, always a positive thinker and always well organized. Her greatest interest was reading and playing bridge. She was a member of the Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield and later at St Augustine Shores Country Club. Dottie loved to tell jokes and was always ready to tell one.
