Michael William Osborne

Mill Creek, WA

Michael William Osborne, 61, passed away at home on Monday, July 25, 2005. He was born in Wenatchee, WA on March 30, 1944, to Faye and Bill Osborne while Bill was serving his country in the Coast Guard. Mike felt he had the best childhood a kid could have as he was growing up in Wenatchee with his younger brother and sister. The family moved to Spokane as he entered high school. He graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1962. His college education was at Eastern Washington State College in Cheney, WA where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Geography. During this time he married Florence Merritt and had three children.

After a short time working at Boeing in Everett, he entered into the marine industry. He enjoyed his time spent at Bayliner Marine, Bob Feil Boats & Motors, and Pacific Mariner and the many friends and acquaintances he met. He loved playing softball, racquetball, traveling, and spending time with his family.

On July 7, 1979, he married his soul mate, Maxine Engebretsen McBurnie at Ohme Gardens in Wenatchee. Their 26 years together were very precious. Mike fought a courageous battle against colon cancer for 31 months. Thanks to Dr. Paul Knoll who used every weapon available in this fight and to his caring associates and staff at Western Washington Medical Group Hematology and Oncology in Everett. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mike leaves behind his beloved wife, Maxine; 5 children and 10 grandchildren, Michelle & Guntram Sachs and Lena and Justin in Hamburg, Germany; Stephanie & Allen Morrison and Drew Osborne in Dallas, TX; Ken & Windy Osborne and Will and Ella in Coulee City, WA; Denise McBurnie and Travis, Tiffany and Terra in Wenatchee, WA; Joelle & Travis Orrino and Taylen and Tyler Stanaway in Lynnwood, WA. He also leaves his mother, Faye Osborne in Wentachee; brother, Christopher Osborne (Crystal) in Lynnwood; sister, Sheri Behne (Tim) in Coulee City; two nieces; a nephew; many cousins; an uncle and a multitude of friends. He was a kind, very gentle, intelligent, wonderful man.

Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Wenatchee at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2005, with a Graveside Service to follow at Wenatchee Memorial Cemetery.

A Celebration of his Life will be held in the Everett area, date to be announced later. Arrangements are under the care of Solie Funeral Home, Everett, WA.
