"Clark H. Myers, 80 of 1009 Franklin Street, Danville, Illinois, a retired educator, died at his home at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, August 16 after a long illness. For some time he lived at 657 South Jackson, Frankfort, Indiana before returning to Danville.

He had a teaching career of 46 years in Vermillion County and also in Fountain County. Born August 20, 1888, in Yeddo, Indiana, he was a son of William and Genettie Bonebrake Myers.

He is survived by his widow, the former Helen Flesher who he married June 5, 1966; a sister, Mrs. Lee Baumer of Lafayette, Indiana; a brother, Warren Myers of Covington, Indiana; two nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Irene Laughlin, in December of 1963 and an infant son.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Frankfort, the Elks Lodge 560 of Frankfort and the National Retired Teachers Association. He had taught and served as principal of Grant, Tilton, Hooten and Daniel Schools. He also had taught in Fountain County, Indiana. When he retired in 1952 he was dean of all men principals in Danville.

He was a graduate of Veedersburg, Indiana High School. He prepared his career at the old Central Normal College at Danville, Indiana, and Indiana State Teachers College in Terre Haute. He received his master's degree at the University of Illinois where he served on the facility as supervisor of beginning teachers.

He had taught at the old Voorhees School near Veedersburg and then Sterling. He also had taught at the Union Corner School and served as principal of Humrick School.

He served as a personnel supervisor in the Army for two years during World War I, spending 133 months in France, Belguim, Luxemburg and German. He was awarded the General Pershing Medial for service in the Army of Occupation in Germany. After retiring he had been active in civic affairs.

Services were in Danville with the Rev. J.T. Myers officiating. Burial was in Bloomingdale Cemetery." – The Covington Friend, September 3, 1969
