Dr. Harry Oliver Lightner, a general practicioner, lived at 100 S. Main St. where he had his office. Two articles in the People's Advocate and Press in 1902 was that he had just built a stable on the back of his home. He also was stricken with some kind of seizure. It was mentioned he was about 32 at the time of the articles. (Contributed by Bill Corl of Marysville, PA who lived next door to the former residence of Dr. Lightner.)

Harry Oliver Lightner attended Central State Normal School, PA (later Lockhaven State Teachers College), where he met Anna Myrtle Cessna. He and Anna Myrtle were married on 13 October 1896. He attended Baltimore Medical College, MD, and worked as a trolley car operator in order to pay for his schooling. He graduated from medical school in 1896, and worked as a general practitioner, first in Blair, Perry County, PA, and then for the rest of his life in Marysville, Perry County, PA.
