Obituary April 10, 1940: Clifton Dresbach Dies; Services held Friday: Clifton Dresbach, 61, widely known Harrison Township farmer, died Wednesday at 1 a.m. after an illness of two months.

Mr. Dresbach had suffered from a cerebral hemorrhage. His residence was one of the showplace properties of the township, located just north of South Bloomfield on the west side of the Scioto Trail.

The funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. at the residence with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston, by E. F. Schlegel. Mr. Dresbach, a former resident of Kingston, was born June 22, 1878, in Fairfield County, a son of Aaron and Cynthia Pile Dresbach. He married Bertha Dunkle, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are six children. Helen and Marjorie at home; Charles of Walnut Township; Mrs. Mary Spence of Adams County; Mrs. Lela Pontius of Ross County, and Mrs. Louise Eakin of Franklin County; a brother, Edward of Chillicothe, and two sisters, Mrs. B. J. Griffith of Chillicothe, and Mrs. E. E. Hines of near Ashville.

Clifton Dresbach, son of Aaron Dresbach and Cynthia Pyle Dresbach was born June 23rd, 1878. Departed this life after ten and one -half weeks illness at his home in Harrison Township at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 17 days.
On January 30th, 1901, he was united in marriage to Bertha L. Dunkle.
To this union, seven children were born. Helen E. and Marjorie A. of the home; Charles of Walnut Twp.; Mrs. Mary Spence of Adams Co.; Mrs. Lela Pontious, Adelphi, and Mrs. Louise Eakin of Franklin Co.; and Herbert, deceased.
His wife preceded him in death May 5, 1924. Six grandchildren: Charlene, Mariruth, Genevie, and Vaughn Clifton Drsbach, Bertha Ann and David Eakin all of whom were very dear to him.
Two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hines of Ashville, O.; Mrs. Effie Goodman, Chillicothe, O.; a brother, Edward Dresbach, Chillicothe, Ohio, also survive.
He was a man of pleasing personality, managerial ability, capable of large enterprises in his calling as a farmer, an excellent neighbor, possessing high moral qualities, and an ideal father.
His death seems to us untimely, and the cause of widespread and deep regret. He will be greatly missed in this community and above all in his home.

He is survived by six children, Charles, Helen and Marjorie of the home, Mrs. David Pontius of Adelphi, Mrs. Clyde Eakin of Lockbourne, and Mrs. Ralph Spence of Peeebles, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. D. J. Goodman, Chillicothe, and Mrs. E. E. Hines, Ashville, and a brother, Edward Dresbach, Chillicothe.
