DAVID MAFFITT Age 56 of Valparaiso, formerly of Lowell passed away on May 4, 2004 at his home. David was survived by his wife, Marjorie; daughters, Jodi Maffitt of Hoffman Estates, IL, Julie Maffitt of Oak Park, IL; grandchildren, Alexandra, Samantha, Madison, Bobby, and Matteas; sisters, Linda Farley and Sandra (David) Cook; brothers, Donald Koedyker and Ken Carr; mother and father-in-law, Glenn and Irene; sister-in-law, Lori (Dupree) Hoge; brothers-in-law, Terrence (Shirley) Lamb, Randy (Louann) Lamb, Russ (Peggy) Lamb and Ron (Geri) Lamb; many nieces, nephews, and many wonderful and loving friends. He is preceded in death by his son, David Glenn and mother Marie Barzen. Funeral Services will be held on May 8, 2004, 10 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, (one mile south of Rt 30), Schererville, Schererville, Indiana. Pastor Jeff Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may meet with the family on May 7, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. David's Grandchildren and his work was important to him. David was retired from US Steel after 36 plus years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
