Larry Carman Sr., 71, of Minerva died Thursday July 9, 2009, at his home.
Born April 27, 1938, in Salineville, he was a son to John and Mildred (Russell) Carman. He retired from Colfor where he had worked for 15 years and Conrail Railroad where he worked for 30 years. He is a member of Minerva True North Church and a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Salineville High School in 1956 and was a member of Salineville Lodge F&AM and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He is survived by his former wife and companion Pamella Marteney; two daughters, Lucinda (Doug) Miller of Carrollton and Heather (Josh) Carman of Minerva; three sons, Larry (Kriss) Carman Jr. of Carrollton, Chad (Joleen) Marteney of Charlotte, NC, and Shawn (Davina) Carman of Akron; two sisters, Willa (James) Stewart of Wellsville and JoAnn (Gary) Lyons of Lisbon; three brothers, Wayne (Irene) Carman of Minerva, Nelson (Joyce) Carman of Minerva and Tom (Leigh) Carman of East Liverpool; 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 12 in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Charlie Winters officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Heritage Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice.
