John David Chapman
Gray Court

John David Chapman, 23, of Gray Court, formerly of Easley, died July 13, 2009.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of David Bruce and Janette Pettit Chapman.

John graduated from Camden Military Academy and served as Corporal in the U.S. Marines with three tours in Iraq.

He was employed by Badcock Furniture & More, was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed golfing.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Lance Corporal Kyle Chapman; grandparents, Bruce and Betty Chapman, and Coke and Margie Pettit; two aunts; one uncle; and numerous cousins.

The funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Rock Springs Baptist Church with visitation prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.

Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Post #5093, 1252 Old Liberty Road, Easley, SC 29640.

The family will be at their respective homes.
